The Community

This was a question founder Khadijah Abdullah was often asked when she worked as a nanny herself.
Through those conversations, she noticed a clear gap in the community. Muslim families were looking for caregivers who understood their values and home environment, but there was no easy way to find them.
In 2014, she created Muslimah Nannies to help connect Muslim families with seeking trusted caregivers. Over time, Khadijah realized that many men had a natural gift for working with children as well. She saw firsthand how skilled they were in group childcare settings, and many families even expressed a preference for male caregivers to engage with their school-aged boys.
From 2016 to 2020, Muslim Nannies connected families with nannies and also provided onsite childcare for community events. The event childcare services eventually grew into a separate company called Playtime Sitters which now provides fun and professional event childcare for families of all backgrounds.
Today, Muslim Nannies is relaunching as the need within the community remains just as strong. With fresh ideas, new programs, and a renewed focus on community-centered childcare, we are excited for this next chapter.
Bismillah.
